Metals & Care

Gold

Solid gold jewelry is a timeless investment that can last lifetimes with proper care. Periodically clean your gold with a mild solution of warm water and a few drops of dish soap. Gently scrub with a soft brush or cloth to remove dirt and oils. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

Gold Vermeil

Gold vermeil is a thicker layer of gold plating on a sterling silver base, measuring 2.5 microns to create a luxurious and durable finish.

To remove oils from your gold vermeil pieces, gently wash them by hand with a mild soap and water solution. Dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in a jewelry bag away from other metals.

With proper care, gold vermeil should not tarnish; however, caution should be exercised when polishing, as the use of a cloth containing compounds may unintentionally remove the delicate gold plating. Should you need a re-plating, contact us or visit your local jeweler.

Sterling Silver & Brass

Your silver and brass jewelry will naturally tarnish over time due to reactions with compounds in the air. To clean, wash them using a mild soap and water solution. Gently scrub with a soft brush or cloth, rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

For heavily tarnished pieces (and for all your non-plated jewelry, really) I recommend MAAS metal polish

Remember to remove brass pieces before showering, as brass tarnishes more easily.

Pearls
Freshwater pearls are delicate and should only be washed gently with soap and water. Avoid brushing and dry thoroughly.
